Strata invests in future engineers with launch of new student project award

Strata, specialists in construction scheduling, project management and digital construction services, has established a new award for third-year civil engineering students as part of a 3-year partnership with UCD.

The Strata Project Award for Excellence in Time Management will be presented annually to the winners of a group project assignment in the Professional Engineering module.

Projects will be completed in the first trimester of Year 3, culminating in a 15-minute presentation by each group, and the prize of €3,000 will be awarded to the winners at the Annual Engineering Graduates Association Award Ceremony the following year. The inaugural prize will be awarded in November 2026.

Enda Grimes (CEng, MIEI, MSc (Constr. Law & Arb.) King’s College London, BEng 2003 UCD, MEngSc 2005 UCD), Managing Director and Founder of Strata, is a guest lecturer on the Professional Engineering module, bringing students the benefit of his broad experience across all sectors of the construction industry, including construction law and dispute resolution.
