“I absolutely love engineering. It is challenging but I have such a passion for it and I am committed to working very hard and becoming top of my class. I am really interested in maths, computer science and physics.

The Cothrom Na Féinne Scholarship is assisting me in this in so many ways. I am supporting myself through college and the scholarship has been such an incredible help. I love physics but I did not do it for my Leaving Cert, so I found myself behind the rest of my class in these modules. This was extremely challenging, but with the support this scholarship has given me, I have been able to cut down my hours at work and use all my free time to study hard. I am so grateful to be able to do this, as I am really enjoying my course. This scholarship support has lifted the constant stress of money from my day-to-day life, and now I am free to focus on my studies.

With the breathing room this scholarship has afforded me, I have been able to fully immerse myself into UCD living. I love being around new people and learning about new cultures. I have joined the UCD Athletics club; It is great to be doing something new and competing in it weekly. The team is very nice and I hope I’ll excel in the outdoor season. I have also joined Formula One student. It is hard to get time for this but I am there when I try. We are making a Formula One car and we will be going to SilverStone in June to race it!
