David's Story

“I found out I had received the scholarship while sitting on the bus home after a long day of lectures…At that moment, a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.

Receiving this scholarship has allowed me to focus fully on my studies and make the most of university life. It has taken away a lot of the pressure I felt and given me the freedom to engage in activities outside the classroom.

One of those is boxing, which I began in 2024. I now compete with both my university club and an external club, and I’m currently working towards winning my first amateur title. The discipline and commitment boxing requires has been a huge part of my university experience, and the scholarship has made it much easier to continue pursuing it alongside my degree.
