Dennis' Story

“I have thoroughly enjoyed studying at UCD – It has been both enriching and fulfilling. The academic environment the University provides is excellent, with top-notch faculty and a wide range of courses and modules to choose from. The campus is so vibrant and filled with opportunities for both personal and professional growth; I have had the chance to engage in various extracurricular activities, collaborate with my classmates on projects, and build lasting friendships.

This might not have been possible without this scholarship. Despite my determination to attend UCD, financial constraints were a major hurdle – It is undeniable that the costs of tuition and living expenses in Dublin are substantial. Before I received this scholarship, my primary concern was the financial strain associated with pursuing higher education. I was not sure I could afford the tuition fees, accommodation, textbooks, and the day-to-day living costs that come with going to college. I was so worried that this pressure would negatively impact my academic performance and put me at a disadvantage compared to other students who may have greater financial resources at their disposal.

This scholarship has had a significant impact on my time at UCD. It not only alleviated the financial burden of tuition fees and everyday expenses but has also provided me with a sense of support and recognition. The scholarship has enabled me to focus completely on my studies and fully participate in extracurricular activities, without the constant worry of my finances. I was nervous about finding suitable accommodation in Dublin, and getting used to a new city, but with the support of this scholarship, I was able to overcome these barriers and fully immerse myself in the UCD community.

Had I not received the scholarship, my college experience would have been so different. I would have to take on multiple jobs, along with my studies, or a heavier student loan. I believe that this would have compromised the quality of my education. I put the scholarship money primarily towards covering my fees and my living expenses, as well as educational resources like textbooks and technology. My course is very challenging and requires a high level of commitment and dedication. Managing coursework, assignments, and exams can be tough, but this scholarship provided me with an essential sense of stability and has helped me hugely to perform my best academically.

Going forward in UCD, I am aiming to continue honing my skills in my chosen field, taking on new challenges, and seeking opportunities for professional growth and development. After graduation, I am looking forward to contributing to my industry through research, and involvement in initiatives that positively impact the field.

To those who are considering supporting a scholarship, I would highly encourage you to do so. A scholarship can make a huge difference in the life of a student, and provide them with the means to pursue an education without the burden of excessive financial strain. By supporting a scholarship, you can contribute to the development of the next generation of leaders, innovators, and professionals. It can empower students to strive for excellence and make the most of their educational opportunities. “
