Louth, Mr Moore left Ireland in 1972 with two degrees from University College Dublin. He became one of the most successful Irish businessmen of his generation, and is remembered as one of the founding fathers of the data analytics industry.

Integrating fully with the Quinn School across three levels, the new €20m expansive wing includes interactive learning hubs, a 320-seat lecture theatre, and extensive co-working zones designed to mimic those in start-ups and innovation hubs. Key features of the new business centre include the PwC Lecture Theatre, the KPMG Skills Zone, the EY Entrepreneurship and Innovation Hub and the George Moore Digital Collaboration Space.

Angela delivered a moving opening speech addressing all students present, stating:

“This is where your world opens up. The people that you will meet, the confidence that you will build..and when you leave here, remember who helped you, and what you got from UCD. Be sure to give back and pay it forward.”

“Philanthropy has the power to transform and UCD Moore Centre for Business will take the study of business to the next level. UCD looks forward to witnessing the future of Ireland’s bright business leaders as they open doors to the opportunities that lie within. On behalf of everyone in UCD Foundation, I would like to thank Angela Moore sincerely for her exemplary support of UCD College of Business and for enabling us to create a pioneering space that will inspire future generations to follow in the footsteps of Dr George G. Moore.” – Orla Tighe, Director of Development, UCD Foundation.
