The development of the tennis centre is key to UCD’s future success in tennis. It will afford UCD students the opportunity to develop their skills for college-level, national, and international competitions.
As well as a redevelopment of the outdoor tennis courts on the north-end of the Belfield campus, there are plans for the addition of five new indoor tennis courts. This new facility will transform the student experience and prepare elite athletes to compete on the world stage. It will become an important venue for tennis in Ireland and will offer Tennis Ireland additional first-class training facilities.

The tennis centre is envisaged as a multi-purpose space that will be used as an examination centre during exam periods, thus mitigating the need to host exams at off-campus locations.
Revitalising the sports infrastructure and facilities will ensure that UCD remains at the forefront of fostering sporting excellence. This ambition has been met with enthusiasm by students, and the UCD student body has agreed to support the tennis centre through the Student Centre Levy to the tune of €85m. However, an additional €10m is needed to support this project.
UCD Foundation is asking UCD alumni and friends to join the students by making philanthropic donations to this ambitious project for the benefit of current and future generations of UCD students.
